2025 year wrapped up

For the third time, I’m making a yearend wrap up for this site. Although I’ve always considered this to be a success in the sense that it’s always had somewhat of an audience, I think we can all agree that this was the year my site really took off thanks to me returning to X where I’ve made somewhat of a name for myself.

OK so for all those who discovered this site from X, first off, thank you for checking out my content! Secondly, I bet you were surprised that there was more to me than making fun of Hasan Piker and his orbit seeing as though that’s what put me on the map on X and not the myriads of other topics I tweet about. This means I now have to explain to the rest of my audience where I stand on the culture war seeing as though being anti Hasan Piker (or as I like to call him……. Hamas Diddy Adolf Bin-Laden Epstein Smollett Palpatine “petite feet” piker) makes you “anti-woke” in this day and age due to his insistence of being the primary voice of the left. First off, I honestly don’t care anymore if anyone labels me as “anti-woke” as a quick glance off my presence on the internet will tell you that while I do attack “woke” content, it’s purely for how awful it is as content and only bring in the “woke” elements to dismantle any counter argument that I should like this dreck simply because it “offends the right people” (whatever that means.) Me attacking Hasan on X or pointing out the failures of the Snow white remake isn’t me pandering to the Daily wire who I maintain are a bunch of far right weirdos that spend too much time worrying about things that don’t matter, rather it’s just me pointing out bad leftist entertainment and how their defenders are often the most deranged people you can find on the internet. I need to stress though that while I don’t regret joining the anti-Hasan orbit, I am annoyed that’s my main claim to fame as like I said, that’s just a small part of who I am which unfortunately is what gets me the most attention on the internet due to how infamous the Twitch streamer has become this year alone.

As for how we did as a whole this year, honestly, it’s been such a nothing burger outside of Hasan’s downfall that I kind of get why people latched onto me on X because of my hatred of him. Yeah we got to witness Trump and his fellow republicans gradually uncover just how corrupt the democrats have become in recent decades as well people descending into madness following the assassination of Charlie Kirk (the less about those who celebrated his death, the better) but in terms of pop culture, it was a complete dud this year as the movie blockbusters were non-existent (save for the Minecraft movie and maybe the Lilo and Stitch remake) gaming has largely healed but is equally as non-relevant as the movie scene, I don’t think they make TV shows anymore as the new releases are more like miniseries than actual shows, and of course the music scene which is what this site is meant to be about. Something called K-pop demon hunters managed to take the world by storm during the midpoint of the year which is a good thing because otherwise this would be the most uneventful year in music of all time. Heck even with the Netflix film’s soundtrack, it’s still the most uneventful year in music of all time as without it, all we’d have to talk about is how Sabrina Carpenter has overtaken Taylor Swift as the pop diva of the moment and how………… actually that’s just about it. All the other hits from this year are carryovers from the previous year with everything on the “new singles” chart ARIA produces being some of the most forgettable nothing burgers you can think of. Honestly, it’s a good thing I had Hasan Piker this year and Sweet baby inc last year as well as how chaotic American politics has become to pay attention to otherwise, I’d be completely oblivious to what’s going on in the world with how non-existent pop culture has become since the end of the pandemic. For the third year in a row, there’s no prominent music from Australian artists, nobody’s bothered going to the movies unless it’s for a rare outlier like Barbie or the Minecraft movie and TV are basically whatever Netflix or Disney+ pumps out to rage bait the idiots at the daily wire for that week. Again, is it any wonder my claim to fame on X is me mocking Hasan and his orbit or defending those who attack SBI, two things I don’t regret doing but is a far cry of what my actual interests are as a person.

As for what’s in store for this site, well as you can imagine, I have to look over the biggest hits of the 2010’s at some point given how I looked over all the big hits from the southern hemisphere over the last few months, so stay tuned for that in the new year. I’m also thinking of looking over the 60’s albeit completely superficially as I’m not a bit fan of Beatles mania which of course dominated that decade regardless of where in the world you’re from, it’d purely be “these were the biggest hits of that decade” with very limited commentary should I go ahead with it. I might also do themed lists such as “biggest breakup songs” or “most controversial songs” seeing as though I’ve done the historical angle to death on this site by this point. I don’t know what the future holds but what I do know is that I’m getting more noticed on the internet as I go along.

With that said, take care and I’ll see you around.
